Molly, sweet Molly, oh the basso profundo beauty of her Basset Hound voice! 

Max heard her singing one morning while he was chasing a chipmunk.

Alas, Max could not leave the yard because of the invisible fence. 

What to do, oh, what to do?

Max whimpered his lamentations. Sweet Samantha tried to cheer him up by playing tug-of-war with him and Bouffant Bailey shared her biscuits with him, but it was no use. Max just moped.  

But then, later on, in the evening, at the rising of the romantic moon, Max's two-legged friend, who had misplaced his glasses and who also hadn't had enough coffee throughout the day, forgot to attach Max's special necklace when he let Max out into the back yard. 

Off Max ran, jumping over the fence, and he united with his love!

After a little while though, Max came home, surprising all by coming in through the garage and up the stairs. Happy, happy kisses he gave everybody, and he was so excited to tell about his adventure that his wagging tail knocked an empty wine glass off the coffee table.

Of course, because he was a good boy, Max got to have a biscuit, and so did Samantha and Bailey (after all, they sure were worried about him!).
