Pass on the Tradition

Yölka Chocolates unwraps an age-old tradition from Russia with holiday chocolate ornaments that will appeal to all generations.

Yölka is inspired by the traditional Russian holiday tree and memories it invokes year after year. The tradition was brought forth from Europe by Peter the Great and dates back to the 17th Century, but in 1916 the Yölka tree was banned by the Imperial Russia. For decades to come, the tradition was secretly kept alive by the steadfast spirit of the Russian people. During the oppression, glass ornaments became rare and families instead gathered around trees trimmed with homemade ornaments and gifts of the heart. Yölka celebrates this indomitable spirit.

Our chocolate starts with premium quality cocoa beans from responsibly managed farms in the Ivory Coast and Ghana — countries known for some of the finest cocoa in the world. In Belgium, the beans are roasted and converted into fine chocolate using top-notch European ingredients and equipment.

Our recipe mandates an extra measure of cocoa butter — the most expensive ingredient. This translates in a glossy chocolate with a luxurious and smooth taste.
