VINEYARD: Celler et Masroig is home to one of Spain's most highly regarded cooperatives and Sola Fred is one of the fruits of their labours. All the grapes that go into Sola Fred are grown around the winery. Altitude ranges from 100 to 350 metres and soils are red clay and limestone. The climate is Mediterranean with continental influences. The dryness of summer, the poor fertility of the terrain, the mountainous landscape and the Mediterranean climate are all key influences.

VITICULTURE: Viticulture is traditional. All grapes are hand-harvested into small crates.

WINEMAKING: Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled, stainless steel tanks. Wine is aged for 3 months on the lees before bottling.

TASTING NOTES: An elegant, easy to drink white with a nose of tropical fruit, white blossom and herbs. On the palate it has fresh and invigorating acidity and a roundness from the Grenache Blanc.Great on its own as an aperitif, or with light starters and fish.

This wine is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

300 days of sunshine a year and soft winds render the perfect conditions to produce top-quality wines.

Complex and honeyed, with a sweet touch of exceptional complexity.

Dr. Konstantin Frank Dry Rosé - New York - $20.00

Dr. Konstantin Frank Dry Rosé Vinification

Made in the saignée method. A method of rosé production that involves bleeding off the juice after limited contact with the skins. Pronounced ‘sonyay’.

After this process, this red blend, consisting mostly of Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Lemberger and a touch of Saperavi, goes through a cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks.

Wine Description

Medium intensity with dominant characters of strawberry, watermelon and honey dew.

An interesting wine that shows sweeter characters on the nose, but surprises with a crisp refreshing dry palate.

Vineyard:

All fruit was sourced from our own vineyard – located within the coolest, westernmost reaches of the Casablanca Valley. Sourced from a hillside block facing north-east, planted in 2006 on red clay soil derived from granite. Plant material is a massal selection, low in vigour and long established in Chile under the name of “Valdivieso clone.” Crop levels are an average of 3.5 tonnes per hectare (1.7 tons per acre).

Harvest:

After a dry and relatively warm growing season, harvest was carried out by hand in 12kg picking cases during the week of 20th April 2015.

Vinification:

Destemming (without crushing) and an individual berry selection before being gravity fed to a small open-top tank. A 5-day cold soak (at 5ºC/41ºF) ensued after which time the must was warmed and inoculated with selected yeasts and fermented during 6 days with temperatures peaking at 32ºC/90ºF. During fermentation the vats were hand-plunged twice daily in order to extract the ideal amount of tannin and colour. Following the completion of fermentation, the young wine was then drained to a mixture of new (35%) and second and third use (65%) French oak barrels for 18 months during which time it was racked twice: once in the spring (upon the completion of malolactic fermentation) and then once again shortly before bottling in October 2016.

After bottling the finished wine was aged for at least three months in our cellar prior to release.

Tasting Notes:

Rather deep colour for a Pinot Noir. On the nose the oak is still rather prominent, but gradually notes of ripe red and black forest fruits appear. Medium bodied, with plush mouthfeel. The elegant tannins reappear on the finish. The wine will benefit from careful ageing, or decanting after opening. Preferably serve at 12 – 14ºC.

chapeu tannat Intense and deep ruby red color. Harmony and balance with oak is sought, this leaves in evidence characteristic notes of the strain on the nose, black fruits such as prunes, blueberries and flowers like violets; in the mouth roundness and balanced tannins.

Ideal to serve with red meats, mature cheeses and any grill plate. Service temperature: 18 ° C

Sangue di Giuda translates to Blood of Judah. This wonderful sparkling red wine is sinfully sweet!

This naturally sparkling wine has an intense crimson-red color and produced from a combination of Croatina (60%), Barbera (20%), Ughetta (10%), Uva rara (10%) (autochthonous grape varieties). It contains a very fruity fragrance that includes crushed berries, dark plums and black cherries. The wine has good acidity, which balances its sweetness. It has a delicate, fresh, and fruity taste that is best enjoyed while the wine is young.

Exceptional with fruit tarts, almond desserts and fine pastries.

Since its inception, the tour has raised over $500,000, allowing the Woodstock JWC to invest in the lives of needy citizens of Cherokee County. Sparkling Nights of Lights - Light Show
Take a little time this Christmas and drop by for a fun and zany nightly light show that features some classic and other holiday music synchronized to Christmas lights in our store. Once the store is closed and the lights go down, that's when our store wakes up and magically dances to many holiday songs. Simply pull your car up in the parking lot, tune your radio to 92.5fm and enjoy the show! This Sparking Night if Lights runs daily from closing until Midnight through December 31st. In most cases it is 8pm to midnight, but please check our store hours if you are planning to arrive at 8pm due to some select nights having extended hours.
